I made this top a few years ago and only wore it for two days because I had made a foolish beginner's mistake: I forgot to wash te fabric beforehand. And it was cotton. Unfortunately, my beautiful fitted top shrank in the wash. It was a shame, also because I liked the print on the fabric so much, and still do. That's why I decided to give the top a size more. For those who are interested, the pattern is top Fauve by La Maison Victor.
Stap 1
As if the tight top wasn't obvious enough I measured the width. Yep, I came 2 cm short. So I started unpicking the side seam.
Stap 2
I cut 2 strips of fabric, 3,5 cm wide, and pinned the strips between the side seams. After some fitting and a little altering I stitched the seams.

Now that the top was (again) a perfect fit, I wanted to do an upcycle. Remember the cute embroidery kit in my last poat (jeans upcycle with embroidered daisies)? The kit also contained patterns of lavender sprigs! So I took out the magic paper again and stitched the lavender on the added strips.
And then things went unexpectedly wrong. Unfortunately, the needle damaged the fabric. If you take a good look, you might notice the white stripes around the embroidered lavender. I was well on my way when I noticed it, and by then there was nothing to be done. I'm pretty sure no one will notice, it's just unfortunate that I do know:).
Niét te zien. Oooh your Broderie's just fantadtic!
